Close proximity to Titchwell reserve and stunning views and countryside nearby. Comfortable room and friendly staff. Food very good.

    Fabulous

the staff were very friendly as usual and the food was excellent.it helps greatly that they accept dogs in most parts.

    Fabulous

Fantastic location and good ambiance with distinctive individuality rather than "big chain, could be anywhere" feeling. Very peaceful and relaxing.

    Good

The large bed was comfortable and there was a good choice at breakfast with service by a friendly waitress. Also, because of problems that we experienced, our bill was reduced without any suggestion from us. The Inn is located on a quiet back road in Thornham and there are bedroom views across the fields and marshes to the sea.

The tomato sauce and vinegar bottles left on tables throughout the establishment but particularly in the central hall area. The restaurant that is charmless and does not offer table service - go to the bar with your table number, order, and it will then be brought to your table. This is like a semi-fast food establishment but pretends to be more upmarket than that. The bedroom that had not been decorated in years and the shower that worked but only just. To be fair, the hotel has recently changed ownership and now comes under the Marco Pierre White umbrella. Hopefully, this will bring necessary changes to the management, which is ineffective at present, ambience and service.

The food, room views and the location.

The bathroom was in desperate need of updating. Considering that you are paying the higher end for a room in Norfolk and making a comparison to other hotels charging a similar price, the shower and bathroom fittings were very poor.

    Exceptional

Overall we had a very nice experience. The hotel staff could'nt have tried harder, especially when trying to find us a taxi. Room was comfortable, and as I always rate hotel rooms on the quality of the shower, this hotel rated highly. Would recommend this hotel to anybody visiting the North Norfolk coast

I liked the location for the peace and quiet and birdsong (no traffic). Also the view out to the saltmarshes and the sea. The food was excellent, though the service from the kitchen was a bit chaotic, probably because of the old-fashioned layout of the inn. The girls were friendly, though it took a day or so before anyone smiled at you.

If I had known that there were so many steps, I would have booked elsewhere, as Walter (my husband) is 88 years old. I was terrified that he would fall down the 2 steps from the bathroom into the bedroom during the night. I did not realise that there were ground floor rooms. Also there were no comfortable chairs anywhere for us to sit on - ie no lounge, only wooden picnic places outside and a small chair and a stool in our room.

What did I like about my stay ? Knowing that I had only 8 hours before I could check out !!

No WI-FI, despite being advertised, beer was served in filthy glasses, and went flat within minutes, food was way too expensive, the bedroom window was rotten, and the shower was pathetic.

    Good

The car park was spacious and well located. Huge log fire in bar. Bar menu.

The actual Inn was warm and welcoming but our room gave the impression that it hadn't been used for a while and would be the last room you would choose if offered other options - dusty, draughty, broken window blinds, no view and near the bins. The check-out person did apologise.

    Good

Excellent location for walking and for those who enjoy bird watching. Staff are very pleasant and helpful

Hotel is generally looking tired and bedrooms are in need of refurbishment. Bedroom window had broken catches and the curtains tiebacks were held together with safety pins. Standard of food was not good but expensive and very disappointing compared to our previous visits to the hotel. The candle lit dining room was dark and impersonnal There is no guests sitting room with comfortable seating. Compared to other hotels in the area it was poor value for money.

Everything about the hotel was lovely. Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent food and beautiful surroundings.

We stayed on a Thursday night and the bar door bangs when it closes which shook the room everytime till 10.30pm - 11pm
